Hearst Castle - need I say more! This is a fun way to spend some of your time. The Castle is a taste of the life of William Randolph Hearst and his passion for this part of the world. The magnificent estate "La Cuesta Encantada" (The Enchanted Hill) is open for tours daily, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. New to Hearst Castle- "The National Geographic Theatre" with their 5 story screen. |

The number one "must play" golf course on the central coast, Morro Bay is a favorite among seniors, juniors and anyone who wants to feel they're playing a Pebble Beach-like track at a fraction of the cost. On a clear day, the tree lined fairways and ocean views are stunning, so bring your camera! Situated inside Morro Bay State Park and Estuary the course is located just 12 miles Northwest of San Luis Obispo, California along Highway 1. This beautiful facility offers hilly terrain, placing a premium on club selection, but the real test comes in the putting. Crowned by Black Hill above and the sweeping Pacific Ocean below, Morro Bay Golf Course has a straightforward, traditional feel and a refreshing lack of manmade trickery. |

When a harbor seal surfaced ten feet from the bow of our kayak, my three-year-old son Daniel barked a greeting. Such close encounters with creatures of land, sea and air are common to kayakers on Morro Bay, where going eyeball-to-eyeball with an egret and observing a plummeting pelican scoop up a fish add to the pure pleasure of paddling in an idyllic setting. |
